Radiator Maintenance

Maintaining your vehicle is essential if you want to keep it running well and operating at peak performance. The usual maintenance procedures, such as oil changes, are usually not issues for most people - but performing basic maintenance operations to keep your radiator and engine running well are just as important yet more often overlooked. Radiator maintenance is an integral part of the overall "health" of your vehicle because the engine has to remain at a prime operating temperature in order to work properly. If your engine overheats, for example, you'll have a lot more headaches than if you keep up with important maintenance tasks on a regular basis.

Flush The Coolant System On Your Car, or Truck

Your cooling system should be flushed every other year. No, I'm not crazy, but with all the new chemicals they use today, it will literally eat up the rubber hoses and deteriorate the heater core, and the radiator core. Have a drain pan under the drain plug, or the lower radiator hose, to catch the old fluid. EPA doesn't want you to let it run out onto the ground--it will contaminate Earth!

Do You Have Any Black Pepper For My Radiator

Awhile back I had a woman traveling through to stop at the shop. Her radiator, the one in her car, had a leak. It was a small leak but she had lost a lot of water, in the car radiator. Now, as I'm not a radiator repair shop, and the nearest one was 20 miles, in the opposite direction, I did what I do to my old 8N Ford tractor radiator.

Troubleshooting A Car Heater

Use caution when working around radiator & heater, hoses and coolant. They can be very hot. Never open the radiator cap when the engine is hot, antifreeze / water can spray out. Use of safety goggles is suggested. TIP: With a rag or glove to protect your hands from being burned, gently squeeze radiator hose to check for pressure before opening the radiator cap.

How Mazda Ball Joints Work

What is a Mazda Ball Joint? It is a part of the car's wheel system that serve as the pivot between the wheels and the suspension. Mazda Ball joints are thus quite important in ensuring that the car runs smoothly and safely. Steering and suspension are, after all, directly affected. These components are often present in a number of linkage assemblies for motion control operations. But they should not be taken in the same line as spherical rod end bearings-which, of course, sport a different structural design.

Keeping the Car's Alignment Intact with Mazda Tie Rods

The Mazda tie rod serves to keep tires in good alignment. The tie rod is a single unit with ball joints on both ends. These ball joints allow the component to move and connect the car's steering rack to the steering knuckle. With its threaded adjusting sleeve, the length of the tie rod can be adjusted. This adjustment is necessary to position a car's alignment.

Removing A Steering Wheel Yourself

Steering wheels are essential in a vehicle. However, there are some drivers that do not find their steering wheels good enough for their vehicles so what they do is they try to purchase another one. If you are one of these drivers and you would like to remove the old one, you actually could do this thing yourself. Although you have to have patience for the process takes some time to do.

Fuel Injectors: Time To Replace

When it comes to squeezing out maximum fuel efficiency as well as power from your engine, properly working fuel injectors are an essential component to helping your vehicle run flawlessly. Eventually, however, like any part they do wear out. Fortunately, the selection of stock fuel injectors available on the market is wide; with a little research you can find replacement fuel injectors that are right for your car and at a price that is right for your wallet.

Your Fuel System Automotive Fuel System - Explained and Troubleshooting Tips

The fuel system feed your engine the gasoline/diesel it needs to run. If anyone of the parts in the system break down your engine will not run. Let's look at the major parts of the fuel system, Fuel tank: Basically a holding tank for your fuel. When you fill up at a gas station the gas travels down the filler tube and into the tank. In the tank there is a sending unit, which tells the gas gauge how much gas is in the tank.

How To Change Your Car's Fuel Filter

Begin by removing the fuel pump fuse from the fuse panel. It should be a blue 15amp fuse. The fuse panel is inside your car, to the left of the steering column. Once removed, start the engine. After the engine fails to start (i.e. it stalls on you) don't worry, it just means there is no fuel going to the engine, so the engine is going to die. Attempt starting the car at least three more times and if the car doesn't start, then the fuel pressure has been released successfully. Make sure you turn the ignition to the OFF position before continuing.
